ABTS HRP MICROWELL
SUBSTRATE
ABTS
(2,2'-Azinobis
[3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]-diammonium
salt) is commonly used as a substrate with
hydrogen peroxide for a peroxidase enzyme or
alone with a laccase enzyme. Its use allows the
reaction kinetics of peroxidases themselves to
be followed. In this way it also can be used to
indirectly follow the reaction kinetics of any
hydrogen peroxide producing enzyme, or to simply
quantify the amount of hydrogen peroxide in a
sample. is a water-soluble HRP substrate that
yields a green end product upon reaction with
peroxidase. The green product has two major
absorbance peaks, 410 nm and 650 nm. ABTS is
less sensitive than TMB in ELISA applications,
it is less readily oxidized, and the kinetics of
its color development is considerably slower.
BioFX Laboratories has created a one component
ABTS for microwell applications. An ABTS
enhancer is also available to increase the
sensitivity of your assay up to 80%.
